3-Day Emotional Cleansing Reaction after NDT Session 1By Dr. Artour Rakhimov, Alternative Health Educator and Author

In the video above, Dr. Artour Rakhimov discusses with Lynn Himmelman the 3-day emotional cleansing reaction.

Illuminated brain with emotional cleansing reaction After the NDT (New Decision Therapy) session procedure, most people experience an emotional cleansing reaction which is passive in the NDT. Dr. Artour Rakhmov asks Lynn Himmelman to comment on this effect. She says that “the practitioners refer to it as the seventy-two hour emotional flux period and in the debriefing, after a session, we always bring attention to that”. There are some very specific ways that we advise a person to take care of themselves during that process because all of the stuck emotions attached to that trauma have now been mobilized and are actually being released from the system and stored in the body, not just identified and talked about but they are actually now in release.

Emotions are ‘energy in motion’. In order for us to have a healthy relationship with our own emotions and the emotions of others, it needs to be happening in present time. Kids know how to do this when they are young. That is why they transition quickly because it moves through their system. They are experiencing it in the present moment and then they move on to the next thing. They are crying and the next thing they are playing because that is over with and it is gone through their system.

Trauma can arrest that natural tendency to let the stuck emotions move, so when you are taking a person through the New Decision Therapy process you put that emotion back into circulation. This is for the emotion to be fully released, cleansed and cleared. From this releasing the person can move on. During that three-day flux, there may be a bit of a roller-coaster ride with the emotions as they are integrating everything.

So the main things that they are being told to do are to :
-Re-initiate the clearing of the three layers of denial which helps keep them in a clearer space.
-Drink plenty of water. (Just as if you were going through a physical detox. When going through an emotional detox the water helps the body flush those toxins out of the system.)
-Then it is recommended not to make any serious life-altering decisions over that flux period because it can be colored by the constant ups and downs of processing.

There might also be noticed an uncontrollable desire to laugh and smile and that can happen. It is not uncommon to hear someone say even at the end of a session, ‘Wow I have not felt so relaxed for ages. I feel so calm, but not always some people go through a more turbulent time than others and some people do not notice anything during that three-day flux period. They just feel better. Thus, the emotional cleansing reaction will play out very differently from one person to the next. Each of us is a unique creation.
